Pair Review
Built from the saved specs and wearability notes for these two watches, then weighed against enthusiast priorities like fit, movement quality, practicality, finishing, value, and collector appeal.
Where it wins
Enthusiasts prioritizing movement certification, anti-magnetism, and technical completeness
Where it wins
Buyers seeking maximum dive-spec capability and 500m water resistance
The Tudor uses the MT5601-U automatic caliber with a 70-hour power reserve, COSC and METAS certification, and 15,000 gauss magnetic resistance, which is a notably stronger technical profile on paper. The Bremont’s BB64AH automatic movement runs at 4 Hz with 25 jewels and a 56-hour power reserve, but no certification or accuracy claim is listed, so its movement data is more conventional. For enthusiasts who care about regulated performance, anti-magnetic robustness, and a more modern movement package, Tudor has the clearer edge. Bremont is still perfectly respectable, but the listed specs are less ambitious. Winner: Tudor Black Bay 68
Both watches wear large at 43mm and use 22mm lugs, so neither is a small-wrist option. The Tudor is 13.6mm thick and its wearability note emphasizes that it feels substantial but balanced, with a roughly 52mm lug-to-lug and a dense, rugged presence; it will appeal most to buyers who like noticeable wrist presence. The Bremont is slightly thinner at 13mm with a listed 50mm lug-to-lug, which should make it the more compact and easier-fitting watch overall despite sharing the same case diameter. Tudor’s overall wearability summary highlights that it is bold and modern, while Bremont’s summary stresses a slimmer case profile and improved comfort. For pure fit flexibility, Bremont has the advantage. Winner: Bremont Supermarine 500M Polar White
The Bremont has the stronger pure tool-watch spec sheet: 500m water resistance, a screw-down crown, helium escape valve, anti-reflective scratch-resistant sapphire, a closed screw-in caseback, and a date display all support hard-use practicality. Its white 3D wave dial and black bezel are described as highly legible, with strong lume and a more technical, sporty character. The Tudor is still highly practical, with 200m water resistance, a domed sapphire crystal, and a crisp silver dial with applied markers that give it a clean, modern look; its METAS-certified, anti-magnetic movement adds real everyday usefulness. The Tudor also benefits from a very strong bracelet/T-fit clasp setup, while the Bremont’s micro-adjust clasp is a meaningful daily-wear advantage, though the bracelet itself is not fully listed. For everyday versatility and desk-to-water readiness, Bremont’s dive-spec package is stronger, while Tudor counters with better movement tech and bracelet refinement. Winner: Bremont Supermarine 500M Polar White
The Tudor is priced higher at $5,075 versus Bremont’s $4,350, but the Tudor also lists a more technically advanced movement package, COSC and METAS certification, and stronger anti-magnetic credentials. Bremont offers more extreme dive capability and premium-feeling case material in 904L steel, plus a helium escape valve and 500m water resistance, which add ownership appeal for buyers drawn to serious tool-watch specs. Tudor carries stronger collector and heritage signals in the Black Bay line, and the updated bracelet/T-fit system should make long-term wear more satisfying. Bremont’s appeal is more about contemporary engineering and niche enthusiast interest than broad heritage cachet, at least from the data provided. On the listed facts alone, Tudor offers the stronger value proposition for enthusiasts. Winner: Tudor Black Bay 68
